Smoakland and Kumarion Team Up For Dynamic Drum & Bass EP 'High Rollers'

Dubstep duo Smoakland are no strangers to TSIS – we’ve been digging their heavy bass sound for years now. But recently the duo has pivoted into the realm of drum & bass, first through the launch of their side project Liquid Smoak, and now with their new collaboration with fellow d&B maestro Kumarion. The High Rollers EP, out today via Deadbeats, features three scorching, explosive tracks.

Opening track “All The Wait” features a jazzy guitar lick before launching into that infectious drum line. Meanwhile, a male falsetto tangos with heavy hitting bars of rap as splashes of bass rain down across the verse. Title track “High Rollers” is a high-octane banger filled with sirens, the turbulent bass balanced by the smooth shaker effects. The last song, “Fluxuations,” might be the hardest, heaviest track on the EP. Smoakland and Kumarion fake us out in the opening bars of the track with melodic notes of piano and a heavenly female vocal, before plunging into an explosion of dubby bass. Hitachi Bucket Cylinder
