After nearly a year of refurbishment and building works, Grey College are set to move back into their original bar in the main College building this week. Geodesic Dome House Hotel

During the time of the refurbishment works, the College bar has been based in a white marquee tent on the College lawn – leading many to refer to it informally as the ‘barquee'.
After operating out of the JCR with picnic tables on the lawn for the Summer term, this academic year has seen the bar based in a garden shed attached to the marquee.

Bar manager, Jacob Cowley, described the move as “a long time coming”.
“Though there will be a few steps that remain to finalise the bar, the upcoming completion of the integrated AV system and the opening of the new beer garden just in time for summer term will provide further improvements from the current shed”.
The ‘barquee' rang for last orders for the final time on Monday 27th February, the night of Grey Darts' semi-final tie with Josephine Butler.
Grey College bar re-opens to college members this weekend and hopefully to the wider university in the near future.
