Bagou Boats offers the boat with 2 main choices of electric motorization, different from our test model. You can opt for a 6 kW Torqeedo outboard motor and a 9 kWh battery pack for 12,590 euros incl. As is often the case with medium-sized construction sites, Bagou Boats can adapt to customer requests, thanks in particular to the flexibility offered by plywood construction. Suggested options include aft saloon seating, leaning post or helm and co-pilot seats.
However, a number of options are priced in advance, such as upholstery at 3,120euros incl. VAT, canvas closing at 3,600euros, or a complete windshield at 1,800euros. To make mooring easier, an electric windlass with mooring line can be added for 2,160euros. A Simrad autopilot is also available for 2,700euros.
In the growing market for electric boats designed for ocean cruising, the Prim 5.50 occupies a fairly competitive position.
The bareboat price of a mass-produced open boat, such as Bénéteau's slightly larger Flyer 6, is comparable, at 23,172 euros incl. VAT. The layout is certainly more integrated, but less free for the owner, as fiberglass does not open up the possibilities of plywood in a small boatyard.
If we look at boats designed for electric motorization, and approved at least in category C, we can cite the Breeze 20 from Rand Boats. With a 6 kW Torqeedo outboard motor and 10 kWh battery pack, it starts at 44,900 euros ex VAT.
The Faro 5, slightly smaller, less fitted out and built in Portugal, is again priced at over 50,000 euros ex VAT, starting at 57,500 euros with a 6 kW motor.
