But when the Advance/SILive reported the news that New Leaf Energy had relinquished their bid for this particular Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), which was to be placed in Our Lady of Pity parking lot, in close proximity to six schools, Islanders spoke up about similar facilities that are nearing completion in other densely populated borough locales.
