RIV998 and RIV938 | Fastener + Fixing Magazine

Rivit reports that its comprehensive range of tools for rivet nuts is able to satisfy any working requirements, with its two best-selling models, RIV998 and RIV938, prime examples of tools that have been designed to meet specific needs.

RI V998, the hydro pneumatic tool for rivet nuts, was designed to place Rivsert female rivet nuts from M3 to M12, in aluminium and steel (stainless steel up to M10) and Rivbolt male rivet nuts, from M4 to M8. The tool works in two phases (deformation and unscrewing of the rivet nut) like similar competitor tools. However, Rivit has upgraded its tool to perform the two operations with one sole trigger. The tool also features an automatic screwing device – with the rivet nut simply placed on the tie rod in order to be screwed. Rivets

The RIV998 also comes in a plastic case with tie rods and heads from M3 to M12. This is a very practical solution for any carpentry and subcontractor worker, who can thus use one tool for different sizes of rivet nuts – they just need to match the corresponding tie rod and use the manual stroke adjustment.

When it comes to the RIV938, Rivit has designed that to place Rivsert female rivet nuts from M3 to M10, as well as Rivbolt male rivet nuts from M4 to M10 – particularly for use in mass production and industrial processing.

Like the RIV998, the tool features a sole trigger mechanism for both deformation and unscrewing of the rivet nut, allowing shorter installation time. The RIV938 is also equipped with automatic stroke adjustment, which allows the operator to have control over the correct fastening of the rivet nut at any time. In other words, the operator does not have to worry about adjusting the stroke of the tool as the thicknesses vary, as it is the tool itself that modifies the stroke automatically, thus obtaining the optimal result.

Furthermore, with RIV938 users can be sure that no piece will be damaged, not even at the end of the job. If a rivet nut were to be pulled twice by mistake, the tool recognises the error and does not deform the rivet nut the second time, thus avoiding unnecessary expenses and waste of time.

The automatic unscrewing function is also intended to avoid a defective rivet nut, or a screw that remains inside the rivet nut, compromising the installation work by slowing it down or even damaging the processing.

“Whilst both tools look similar at first sight, the two models are designed for different specific needs,” concludes Rivit. “However, where both the RIV998 and RIV938 are identical is that they are both low-cost, high-performance tools available under the Rivit brand.”
