A total of four new Midi 12 Aseptic filling machines from SIG will replace the old production lines at SOLAREC.

The gold standard of business intelligence.

Out of the four machines, SIG has already installed the first for SOLAREC in the third quarter of the current year.

By leveraging SIG’s filling machines, SOLAREC can further optimise its production and offer a variety of sustainable packaging solutions such as tethered caps to its customers.

SOLAREC CEO Louis Ska said: “For us, SIG is the best partner for this, because we get excellent filling machine technology, sustainable packs, state-of-the-art digital solutions, and outstanding service from a single source.

“As a result, we not only pack our own products efficiently and sustainably, but also offer a broader portfolio to our retail customers.”

According to SIG, each filling machine will allow the dairy company to propose two different packaging formats, SIG MidiBloc and SIG MidiFit, in two volume sizes – 500ml and 1,000ml.

SIG said the format change can be made within 30 minutes and the volume change in less than 15 minutes, for maximum flexibility.

The Midi 12 Aseptic filling machine has an output of 12,000 packs an hour, which is said to be sufficient to meet SOLAREC’s annual production requirement of 190 million litres of ultra-high-temperature (UHT) milk.

In addition, SIG will provide its end-to-end digital solutions, including SIG Connector and SIG Asset Health Monitoring, to further enhance the productivity and efficiency of the filling lines for SOLAREC.

SIG Europe president and general manager José Matthijsse said: “The SIG team is excited to be SOLAREC’s partner for the future.

“We look forward to supporting SOLAREC in providing efficient, flexible, and sustainable packaging solutions for the benefit of all.”
