FlexiSpot E7 Pro desk & C7 chair review: performance, price

The FlexiSpot E7 Pro standing desk is a sturdy workstation with plenty of space, plus the C7 chair is a comfortable addition to any setup. Motorized sit/stand desks provide several benefits related to health and productivity. For those who work from home, they've become an essential piece of furniture. FlexiSpot has a selection of desks and chairs built with work-from-home in mind. We tested the E7 Pro desk and C7 chair for this review. The overall design aesthetic and thoughtful features like a magnetic cover for cable hiding make these products stand out. However, the decision to have no holes or grommets for cable management or accessories is certainly an opinionated one. FlexiSpot E7 Pro desk review — design FlexiSpot's E7 Pro is a dual-motor sit/stand desk with a semi-c design, a thick wooden desktop, and stable legs. There aren't any penetrations or holes in the desk, which is meant to provide a more seamless look. The bamboo desktop is sturdy The desk we reviewed has a 55-inch by 28-inch bamboo desktop. The legs have three stages with more overlap to increase stability and are made of carbon steel. A semi-c frame allows for more leg space than a standard t-frame. This refers to where the legs are connected to the feet, which is further back than the center on the E7 Pro. The desktop is 3/4 of an inch thick. It has soft corners and a pleasant patterned design. Assembly The FlexiSpot E7 Pro is one of the easier desks we've had to assemble. The desktop, frame, and legs arrive in a flat pack box. Getting everything together is quite simple, and FlexiSpot has everything well organized. One person can perform assembly, but you'll want two people to flip the desk over at the end for safety. The pre-drilled holes were easy to locate and use. However, there weren't spots for the cable management bracket or power strip, so we had to make those holes ourselves. FlexiSpot E7 Pro desk review — Features FlexiSpot says the E7 Pro can last 16 years if it is operated five times per day. The desk comes with a 15-year warranty. A magnetic cover hides the motor controller and wires Since the desktop doesn't have any penetrations, users will need to use other means for cable management, if any. Underneath the desk, there's a complimentary cable tray that makes keeping wires hidden much easier. The central frame houses the leg motors and controller. There are a lot of cables for power and controller connections, but they are all hidden away with a magnetic cover. The included keypad has four programmable buttons. Users can press and hold the arrow keys for manual adjustments, too. Four programmable buttons allow for quick sit/stand switching The E7 Pro can hold up to 440 pounds. It can be adjusted from 25 inches to 50.6 inches. A 10-inch height change takes about 7 seconds. The motor operates at an audible but quiet volume. Using the FlexiSpot E7 Pro desk We've tested the FlexiSpot E7 Pro as a workspace desk with our MacBook Pro. The desktop is wide enough for a monitor stand, keyboard, wrist rest, and a notepad from back to front. We've used E7 Pro as a product photography area A lack of holes for cables could be an issue for some, as it also eliminates the option of having a power grommet or grommet monitor stand. However, it does lead to a cleaner look if cables running across the desk aren't an issue. Our primary use case for the FlexiSpot E7 Pro has been a new secondary workstation and photography table. If you see a cable coming down each leg in our photos, those are for studio lights. Previous reviews have been photographed on the E7 Pro We're mentioning this specific use case because sit/stand desks don't always need to be used as traditional desks. They can work as variable workstations with multiple use cases. Having the option to raise the desk to get a better angle on an object being photographed is fantastic. There's no need to crouch or adjust a fiddly tripod. Instead, the desk can just get in the right spot. Buy from FlexiSpot The FlexiSpot C7 chair Our review has focused on the E7 Pro desk so far, but FlexiSpot included the C7 chair as well. As office-style chairs go, the C7 is an excellent option for those who need all the support options. FlexiSpot's C7 chair is comfortable but not flashy This isn't a flashy gaming chair with LEDs or cooling fans, but it gets the job done. The foam seat took some getting used to, as it is a more firm cushion than the one we've used previously. That's not necessarily a negative, as the firm cushion feels more supportive. The lumbar support is excellent, as it is always present, even when leaning slightly forward. The seat is large and wide, and the armrests can be adjusted for height or angle. The FlexiSpot website advertises the ability to sit cross-legged, but this takes some acrobatics. FlexiSpot E7 Pro and C7 chair are an excellent combination We've worked with the E7 Pro and C7 chair for a few weeks, and everything works great. The sit/stand E7 Pro has been an excellent addition to our home office, while the C7 chair is a welcome replacement for our previous executive-style office chair. FlexiSpot E7 Pro is a great workstation FlexiSpot offers these products at competitive prices, too. However, customers may find more price-friendly options versus the C7 chair. A motorized sit/stand desk has become a near necessity in today's work-from-home world. Customers looking for a great desk with straightforward controls and assembly should check out FlexiSpot. If you'd prefer holes in the desktop for cable management, then the E7 Pro isn't for you. FlexiSpot E7 Pro and C7 chair — Pros Easy to assemble Sturdy and stable Wide range of height adjustment Decent under-desk cable management FlexiSpot E7 Pro and C7 chair — Cons Lack of holes for cable management may be an issue for some Lack of pre-drilled holes for accessories like cable tray or power strip Rating: 4 out of 5 A 4 signifies that a product does what it says it will do efficiently and at a reasonable price. The Flexispot E7 Pro desk does just that. More cable management options could help increase the score. The C7 chair is a bit expensive, but worth the price for a good chair. Where to buy the FlexiSpot E7 Pro and C7 chair The FlexiSpot E7 Pro is normally $759.99 with the bamboo desktop, but it is on sale at $549.99 at FlexiSpot during Black Friday. The FlexiSpot C7 chair is normally $609.99 but is on sale for $349.99 at FlexiSpot.
