Casey Donovan to Headline QPAC's 2023 Songs of Hope Concert | The Otaku's Study

The Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC) has today revealed the line-up for their annual Songs of Hope concert, scheduled for 6 June 2023. This year’s concert will be headlined by Australian entertainer and musical theatre star Casey Donovan, and will also feature a range of special guest performers and showcase music and cultures from around the world. Donovan, a multi-award-winning Gumbaynggirr and Dungatti artist, will be joined by acts such as Matt Hsu’s Obscure Orchestra, Zemzemeh, Ozi Jarel, and the QPAC Chamber Choir.

Since 2015, QPAC has presented Songs of Hope (formerly Songs of Hope and Healing) to raise awareness and funds for HEAL, a charity that provides expressive arts therapies to young people from refugee backgrounds in Queensland. The event will be hosted by Queensland Poetry Slam champion and comedian Anisa Nanduala, and audiences should go in expecting an evening of world music while supporting a worthy cause. Tickets are currently on sale, and for the first time, patrons can participate in the Pay it Forward ticket initiative, allowing them to gift live performance tickets to members of the Queensland refugee community who may not otherwise be able to attend. This program aims to make the arts accessible to all and connect Queensland’s diverse cultural communities with the performing arts.
