The Solar Generator 2000 Plus may have come off like just another variant of its series' 2000 Pro flagship during its previews - however, its announcement reveals it to be Jackery's first modular portable power station instead. Accordingly, it is rated to support capacities of up to 24kWh and outputs of up to 6,000W in its 'fully expanded' form.
Furthermore, the 2kWh 2000 Plus itself is actually rated to improve on its Pro sibling as a standalone backup generator, with a max output of 3,000W as opposed to 2,200W in the older model. It also upgrades to LiFePO4 batteries, while the Pro launched with more traditional lithium-ion technology. Portable Solar Backup Power
Accordingly, Jackery asserts that the user can get up to 4,000 charging cycles out of the 2000 Plus before its battery 'health' degrades from 100% to about 70%, whereas one can only get about half those cycles out of the Pro. The brand also estimates that the Plus runs quieter (at ~30 decibels (dB), compared to ~53dB in the 2000 Pro) thanks to its new batteries.
Jackery also touts the Plus as a "sustainable next-gen generator" due to its ability to charge off solar in as little as 2 hours - however, it is rated to need 6 SolarSaga 200W panels to power up anywhere near that quickly.
The new backup generator solution has been released as a standalone Explorer 2000 Plus power station or bundled with dual SolarSaga 200W panels with or without the new Battery Pack 2000 Plus, priced at US$2,199, US$3,299 and US$4,999 respectively.
It will be available through Amazon or jackery.com, the latter of which is currently offering "early-bird" coupons for up to US$499 off one of these launch-day options - however, each one costs US$1 apiece.
